Manon grew up in France, where she earned her degree in Fine Art and Communication. She began her career in graphic design while freelancing as an illustrator, and she finds that her design background still helps her today with composition and choosing colour schemes.
For the past six years, Manon has worked as a Commissioning Illustration Editor for DC Thomson. In this role, she manages commissions and creates her own illustrations..
Details and visual brainstorming are important to Manon’s process. She enjoys looking at photos and everyday scenes and imagining how to turn them into something a bit more whimsical. For her, illustration is simply a way to bring an idea to life. Manon now lives in Scotland with her husband, two daughters, and her dog, finding inspiration in the small, everyday moments.
Her style is gentle and a bit naïve. She works digitally in Procreate and Photoshop, using mixed-media brushes and blending watercolour textures with pencil or ink lines to create digital art with a traditional, hand-drawn feel.
